What is WipeOut and how it is useful to me?
WipeOut application is designed considering Security needs as of today. WipeOut will enhance your data security by securely removing data permanently so that no one has access to your sensitive, confidential and proprietary data. This way you are limiting your data exposure to outsiders. WipeOut is designed using secure algorithm recommended by NIST.
Can WipeOut be use by Student, Home User or for an Enterprise?
WipeOut application is helpful for all. Student can protect their documents by limiting exposure their Study and Academic Materials. Home user can use to protect sensitive Financial, Health Related or any other data as per need. For enterprise it will be of great help to comply with following and achieve the objective of limiting exposure to outsiders:
  • The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
  • Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (GLB)

What all platform 'WipeOut' Support?
WipeOut supports Windows and Android Operating Systems. That covers Laptop, Desktop, Tablet and Android Smartphone & Tablet.
Using 'WipeOut' which storage device data can be wipe?
Windows Version of WipeOut will be helpful to wipe data from Internal or External hard drive, Flash Drive, Memory Drive, SD Card provided the same has been recognized by operating system. Android Version of WipeOut will be helpful to wipe data from Android, Smartphone, Tablet, SD Card, Macro SD, and Micro SD card provided the same has been recognized by operating system.
Can ‘WipeOut’ wipe any files?
WipeOut can wipe any files which is recognized by the operating system provided user has privileges to wipe files. It is expected that user is authorized user and has enough privileges to wipe files/folders.
Does WipeOut provide Compliance Log as evidence of WipeOut?
WipeOut does provides Compliance Log that is helpful to find out if file/folders have been successfully wiped or not. This way user can make sure that data is completely removed from their system. Enterprise user will get compliance log as an evidence of wipeout.
I want to purchase the 'WipeOut Application'. What can I do for that?
To purchase the Wipeout Subscription, visit http://wipeoutinc.us/ and click on 'Customer Sign in'. Select Type as 'User' and create user id. Click on 'Customer Sign in' and login using user id to purchase the wipeout subscription. Make sure to enter correct email ID, on which you will get the Purchase Information. Alternatively you can contact WipeOut Customer Support at (410)-730-0667 or send mail to 'Support@wipeoutinc.us'.
If I enter wrong email ID & submitted Purchase Information, then what will be the impact of this?
If wrong email id is submitted then you will not receive the Purchase Information /Purchase ID and hence the WipeOut Application will not be installed. To get help you can contact WipeOut Customer Support at (410)-730-0667 or send mail to 'Support@wipeoutinc.us'.
How can I install WipeOut Setup?
A Download link for 32-bit system user & 64-bit system user is provided in the "Purchase Information mail". Click on the link to download and install WipeOut Setup. It is self-installable, however in case you need help you can contact WipeOut Customer Support at (410)-730-0667 or send mail to 'Support@wipeoutinc.us'.
Do I need to register WipeOut?
Yes, once you register yourself for WipeOut, you will get a license to use WipeOut software for a fixed period of one year. After license expires you get automated mail for license renewal.
How is WipeOut activated after I Register the WipeOut?
After Registering WipeOut, you will receive a WipeOut Registration key on the same email ID. Use this Registration key to activate the WipeOut application.
Is there any way (any hard / soft copy of agreement from WipeOut ) to prove that I have WipeOut license?
Yes, there is such a provision from WipeOut. At the time of activation, WipeOut sends you an e-mail with your registration key with an attached pdf file. You can save or take a print of that pdf file as a proof of license.
What if my password doesn't work?
Password is provided only to authorized person at the time of activation, in case for any reason you need any help with password, you can write to WipeOut Customer Support at Support@wipeoutinc.us or contact WipeOut Customer Support at (410)-730-0667
Can I change my password? How do I change my password?
Yes. You can change your password as and when required. Click the Reset password button on the Enter password screen (which appears when you login to the application) and then enter the new password.
I can't find the Logout option in the System tray menu?
The Logout option in the system tray is displayed only if the Login PWD protection field in the Settings-Options->Pattern tab is selected as ON. In case you have selected the Login PWD protection as OFF then the Logout option in the system tray will not be displayed.
What if my system crashes or is damaged and I want copy of my WipeOut installation? Can I use my purchase id on my new machine?
In case your system crashes or is damaged for any reason and you need help with WipeOut, please contact our WipeOut Customer Support at (410) 730 0667 or can send an email at Support@wipeoutinc.us. You can use your purchase id on another machine, as long as purchase id and subscription opted is valid.
What will happen if I don't change any settings in options?
That should be fine.  WipeOut is provided with default setting for WipeOut to function, so that even if you don't change app settings, you will be able to use WipeOut Software.
Is it necessary to run or launch WipeOut whenever I want to wipe out file/folder?
No, it is not necessary to run WipeOut every time you want to wipe out file/folder. In that case WipeOut provides you Context menu (shell extension) option to wipe out file/folder. You can simply right click single/multiple file(s)/folder(s) and select "Wipe Me Out" menu to start wiping out.
II don't want a message to be displayed asking for permission every time I delete a file. What should I do?
If you don't want a message to be displayed asking for permission every time you delete a file then uncheck the Every Delete check box, in the application Settings->Options->Prompt for tab.
Once file is WipeOut using WipeOut software, is it possible to recover in any way?
It is expected that user is taking informed decision of wiping file/folders as per the need, once file is wipe there no way to get back the original content of files/folders. Please note WipeOut will not be responsible for any loss of data.
Can I schedule WipeOut for a specific time to wipe files/folder?
Yes. WipeOut provides facility to schedule a wipe for One Time, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly or at specific intervals. Please ensure that your computer is on and working. In case your computer is shut down during the schedule wipeout will not be able to wipe files.
What happens when in case a file scheduled to be WipeOut is open in the system?
If you have selected the WipeOut Locked Files checkbox in the application settings, then in case a file scheduled to be WipeOut is open in the system during the scheduled time, the application would ask you for permission to close the file before wiping it out. If you have unchecked the WipeOut Locked Files checkbox in the application settings then the open file will not be wiped out.
Can I schedule the WipeOut operation for whole year?
Yes. You can schedule the WipeOut operation for specific months as well as a whole year.
I want to schedule two wipe out operations for two different files for a single day like 8.00 am and 5.30 pm. Is it possible to have such timings?
Yes, you can schedule one or more wipe out operations for two different files for a single day.
How can I delete all my important files instantly all together in just one click without scheduling the job?
You can delete your important files all together in just one click using the 'Rescue Me' feature. To be able to use this feature, the path of all the file/s to be WipeOut should be predefined in the Settings-Options->Rescue Me tab of the application. Once this is done, you can WipeOut all those files/folders in one click as and when required without scheduling the job.
Can entire drive be wiped out?
Yes. With Enterprise version you can wipe out drives. To wipe out drive, right-click the system tray icon, select WipeOut Drive and then select desired drive to be deleted and Start WipeOut. You can also right-click the specific Drive in the Hard Disk Drive section and select the "Wipe Me Out" option.
Can I wipe multiple drives?
Yes. With Enterprise version you can wipe out one drive at a time. After completion of one drive wipe you can select other drive for wipe.
Is there any security provided during wipe out of drive?
Yes. Password protection is provided only if checkbox on Settings->Options->Prompt For->Password Confirmation for Drive WipeOut checkbox is selected. When a drive is selected for wipeout, the application would then display a password pop up window.
Can we stop the drive WipeOut process?
Wipe out drive process once started, cannot be stopped unless the process is ended though the Task Manager. It is expected that user is taking informed decision of wiping drive as per the need, once drive is wipe there no way to get back the original content of files/folders. Please note WipeOut will not be responsible for any loss of data.
Can I schedule my recycle bin to be wiped out on a regular basis?
Yes, you can schedule your recycle bin to be wiped out on a regular basis.
Can I set Retention days to my recycle bin WipeOut for auto wipe?
Yes, you can set the Retention days to wipe out Recycle Bin and it works on daily basis during the start of application. But before using this feature, the Retention days should be predefined in the Settings-Options->Pattern tab of the application. Once the retention days are predefined, the application will wipe out the Recycle Bin files which are older than the number of days mentioned in the Pattern tab. This activity will happen automatically until user change the setting not to wipe recycle bin.
When we uninstall WipeOut, what happens to the WipeOut logs?
When you uninstall WipeOut, the application displays an alert message asking whether to delete the Log report files. If you click "Yes" the application deletes the log reports and proceeds with the uninstallation. If you click "No" the application retains the log reports on the system and proceeds with the uninstallation.
Can I wipe data from my Lost/Stolen device (Laptop or Desktop)?
Yes if you are authorized WipeOut Enterprise user and your device is lost/stolen you can contact WipeOut Support Team @ Support@wipeoutinc.us and request to wipe data from your lost/stolen device. If your device is traceable, WipeOut support team shall process your request to wipe data from your lost/stolen request and as soon as the process is complete you will be notified by registered email id. Please note WipeOut will not be responsible for any loss of data.
If I have already submitted Lost/Stolen request, can I submit it again for same purchase id?
No, you can submit it only once. During re-submission of the request, a message "Request is already submitted" will be displayed on website.
How can I track my Lost/Stolen request?
Once you submit request, you will first receive an acknowledgement mail of your request on your registered email id. Based on the Lost/Stolen device request WipeOut will trace the Lost/Stolen device and as soon as device is traced, you will receive second mail on same email id stating the status. Once WipeOut process is completed, you will receive third email id with WipeOut log report. Please note WipeOut will not be responsible for any loss of data.
How do I renew my WipeOut license?
As the WipeOut product expiry nears, you will receive an email reminding you about the same. To renew the WipeOut license, click on the link provided in the email to activate and then you will be directed to the PayPal screen. Once you have made the payment, you will receive the activation key by email. Alternatively you can contact WipeOut Customer Support at (410)-730-0667 or send mail to 'Support@wipeoutinc.us'.
